It's quiet in the house. Eerily quiet. My children are camping with my folks--a last fling before school starts. It's also my last chance for planning, purging and organizing.
A saddle in the middle of the room with a plastic bag and some bridles. A spinning wheel and some escaped wool. A perpetually busy refrigerator front.
I've visited a couple of blogs of homeschooling moms with lovely before and after photos. I would like to do that too, but I'm stuck in the "before".

A shirt draped over a dining room chair. Six months of reading material, backed up like traffic during rush hour. A quilt gift balanced on a recliner, waiting to go with my oldest to college this Friday.
This is the stuff of my life, and it's not really photo-worthy. I'd love to live in a peaceful, ordered environment. But I don't know where to start...
Nice saddle. Kathy has a saddle in her living room as well right now.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks like a family lives there and is loved.
I love your living room! It looks lived in! Seriously, I would be right at home in your home. That said, can you take the saddle to the barn? Or the basement? Or somewhere else? Does your dh spin in your living room? If so, by all means keep it in there, along with the escaped yarn. I love that look anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'll pray for you this week! Can't wait to see the "after" pics!

Yes, the saddle now lives in the barn. It was only in the house temporarily as we'd just bought it. DH does spin quite often, so we'll keep the wheel(s) in the living room, I guess. The "after" photos may be a while in coming...it's a big job!
